Week 3 Post 1: Aesthetics, Design, and Branding

Two websites that seem to have potential problems are 1) https://jamilin.com/ and 2)http://gatesnfences.com/. First,  1) website seems messed up with a lot of information. It does not follow Alignment, Proximity, and Ease of Use. I had a hard time finding the main title. In addition to having some items at the top of the screen that take you to different pages, there is also some information on both sides of the page. It's very hard to see and read because a lot of information is scattered in various places. I think this website is too colorful, and its alignment and size of the letters are not organized. I do not think this website comes across as being professionally done because it provides engaging content, but visitors would not be able to find exactly what they are looking for.
Next, the potential problems for visitors of 2) website are boring looks, full of letters, huge amounts of information. This page looks very stiff. The moment you look at it, you would be discouraged from seeing this page. It is lined with very small newspaper-like swords that contain a lot of information. However, I think this website comes across as being professionally done because it looks organized, and visitors can find what they are looking for just by clicking the categories shown on the left-hand side of the page.
The improvements I would suggest are to make these websites simple. For 1) website, organize all information on the page. So many links that will take visitors to different pages, should be organized by using bullets. Also, it has some video clips, but were scattered everywhere on the page so it can make the video section be gathered. For 2) website, make it simple and attractive. It can include more images and colors that can be paid attention to visitors. It also changes letter size or widens the line spacing to make it easy to read. I think it should reduce information, but if it is not acceptable, it should have an A-Z search bar to make it easy to reach what visitors are looking for.

Two websites that seem done the right way are 1) https://www.toyota.com/ and 2) https://www.nps.gov/index.htm. Both websites are very organized and simple. They also have a search bar and menu tab and it is very helpful for visitors to read and look for what they exactly want to know. In addition, they both separate their posts to each section with photos. on the bottom of their pages, they have all of their information. Visitors can visit their social media from these pages just by clicking the column. I think both websites come across professionally because these are very visitors friendly.
My first impression of these websites right after I opened them was attractive. Their designs made me want to read and explore them because they are simple. Compared to the websites I mentioned above, these websites do not have any letters or images on the both sides of website pages. They also unify colors that represent their business. For Toyota, they use red, and National Park use green. What I like the most about these websites is simple. I think it makes visitors feel authentic and safet because I think websites that are full of information are confusing and tend to be distrustful. Simple design helps me to believe websites.
