 Netflix

  • Netflix is a streaming service that provides thousands of Internet-connected devices with a wide range of award-winning TV shows, movies, anime, documentaries, and more. Their industry is Entertainment, and they have a mission statement “To entertain the world,” based on the nature of the company in providing on-demand movie streaming services.
  • Netflix is on Facebook (11 million followers), Instagram (19 million followers), and Twitter (6.8 million followers). Their links are shown in each of these social media, but you have to find their social media links by searching online. Instagram and Facebook posts from Netflix are images, and they also share scenes from TV shows with captions to get a conversation going. Netflix uses a simple posting strategy, with most posts not containing any hashtags at all. Their posts usually concentrate on upcoming movies and TV shows, as with Facebook, and the website has emerged as the best source for posting extra content. On Twitter, Netflix posts once every 2 hours on average. 
Hollister Co.

  • Hollister Co. is a global retail brand for teenagers and young adults owned by Abercrombie & Fitch Co. In-store and through the online store of the brand, products are available.
  • Instagram has proved to be the best visual platform on social media, and with content efforts, they literally make the most of it by rolling out short videos almost every day. In all social media networks such as Facebook (11 million followers), Twitter (690 thousand followers), and Instagram (5.2 million followers), the brand has a huge community growth. They provide their website link on each social media, and you can find their social media account from their web site. Hollister Co. posts constantly on each social media. The most constantly used of their social media is Instagram, they post at least once a day.
Victoria's Secret

  • Victoria's Secret is an American lingerie, jewelry, and beauty store known for marketing and branding with high exposure, beginning with a famous catalog and followed by an annual fashion show.
  • Victoria's Secret is on the following social media: Facebook (29 million followers), Twitter (11.2 million followers), Instagram (690K followers),  Youtube (1.8 million subscribers), and Pinterest. They have an astounding presence on social media. Head to any of their accounts on social media and you can discover their visually captivating content. All posts on their social media lead you to go to the online store just by clicking the post you are interested in. You also can find their social media account from their official website. Through posting at least once a day, they continue to stay consistent with their frequency of posting on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
Starbuck

  • The American company is the world's biggest coffeehouse chain. It is based in Seattle, Washington. They have over 30,000 stores globally in more than 70 countries as of early 2020. Hot and cold drinks, whole-bean coffee, micro-ground instant coffee available in their locations.
  • They have 11.9 million Twitter followers, 16 million followers on Instagram, and 153K YouTube subscribers. Updates regarding their new products were mostly involved in the photo content. Some of the famous Starbucks beverages are seasonal and the frequent recurrence of the beverage creates big buzz on their social media. These are vivid, colorful, and quirky posts, an image that is preserved by the brand on their social media page.
In-N-Out Burger

  • In-N-Out is a regional fast-food chain in the United States with locations primarily on the West Coast. They are very popular and have a lot of passionate fans. With only three slightly different burger options (plain, with cheese, extra patty), fries, shakes, and drinks, the burger is simple and its menu is famously short. Its design is bright and vintage.
  • Since bigger name businesses have accounts on at least 2 platforms, In-N-Out's social media site linked to their official site was only Facebook (280K followers). but they also have accounts on Twitter and Instagram. In-N-Out Burger isn’t posting very regularly. It just seems to be whenever they have something to share, which apparently isn’t all that often. 
    Analyzing the 5 businesses, I realized that social media is necessary for succeeding in business in any field. Having more followers on each social account will increase the credibility of its business for customers. And it leads to advertisement. SNS can instantly spread information to the world. When a business account has a new post, its follower posts a new post, it can be seen by more people. Even people who don't follow a business can quickly get information from the post. If there is no technology like social media, it is much harder to get customer's attention.

    I often shop after seeing Instagram posts. The products I have purchased were on Instagram, look more attractive than the photos posted on the company's online website, because that product's photos were taken and posted by consumers. SNS helps you to instantly know the latest information on the business and products from the customer's perspective. SNS is playing a crucial role in the business industry in a world where everything is now online under the influence of the COVID.

    I strongly agree with you! Social networking services helps us keep updated on what is going on around the world and it became essential in business industry. It also allows users to share ideas, events, activities, and interest that are also beneficial to others. You're right! Checking on social media like Instagram when you shop helps you better because photos being shared are really from the actual customers purchased their products.
